FAQ

What custom pieces do you build besides dining tables?

We create epoxy river kitchen islands, waterfall islands, bar tops & countertops, bathroom vanity tops, conference tables, coffee tables, and desks. We also offer matching shelves and accents so your space feels cohesive.

Where do you source your wood?

We primarily source wood locally in Colorado to reduce environmental impact and support sustainable forestry. Our slabs often come from responsibly salvaged walnut, elm, cottonwood, and oak on the Western Slope.

If you have a specific species in mind that isn’t native to Colorado, we can absolutely source premium hardwoods from outside the region to meet your design goals. Every piece is kiln-dried and prepared to ensure stability and long-lasting quality.

What are typical lead times?

Most projects take 6-8 weeks depending on slab availability and complexity.

Do you offer payment plans or financing?

We don’t offer traditional financing because each piece we create is one-of-a-kind and handcrafted to order. To begin your build, we simply require a 50% deposit, which secures your chosen slab and reserves your spot in our production schedule. The remaining balance is due upon completion, just before white-glove delivery. This way, you’re investing only once your heirloom-quality furniture is ready to bring home.

Do you make epoxy kitchen islands and countertops that can handle daily use?

Yes. We use Superclear® epoxy flood coats designed for tables, kitchen islands, countertops, and bar tops. It cures to a crystal-clear, high-gloss finish that’s extremely durable and tested for food contact safety.

How do I care for a live edge or epoxy table?

Our pieces are designed to be functional and durable, but simple care helps them look beautiful for decades:

  • Daily: wipe with a soft cloth and mild soap

  • Avoid: harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners

  • Heat: always use trivets for hot pans and cookware

  • Protection: use felt pads under décor or dishes

  • Re-oil (Rubio Monocoat finishes): apply maintenance oil once or twice a year

  • Epoxy flood coat & polyurethane finishes: just clean with mild soap and water — no re-oiling needed

Can I choose which finish goes on my custom piece?

Yes. We’ll explain options during your consultation. Many clients choose epoxy flood coats for kitchen/bar projects and polyurethane or Rubio for natural-look tables.

How much does a custom piece cost?

Every Legacy Furniture build is unique, so pricing depends on the wood species, slab size, epoxy work, finish, and hardware. Kitchen islands, bar tops, vanity tops, dining tables, and conference tables are all custom-quoted after confirming dimensions and project details. We’ll always provide a clear proposal up front so you know exactly what to expect.

Do you deliver outside of Grand Junction?

Yes. We offer white-glove furniture delivery across Colorado—Aspen, Snowmass, Vail, Beaver Creek, Telluride—and nationwide.

Can you rent pieces for staging?

We offer short-term staging rentals from our rotating showroom inventory. Ask about availability for luxury listings in Aspen, Vail, and Telluride.

Do you work with interior designers, stagers, and real estate agents?

Yes. We partner with interior designers, stagers, and real estate agents for show homes, luxury listings, and homebuyer gifts such as custom cutting boards, entry tables, or coffee tables.

Do you have a showroom I can visit?

Yes! Our Grand Junction showroom is open by appointment, where you can see completed dining tables, kitchen islands, vanity tops, and epoxy river builds in progress. It’s the best way to explore wood slabs, test finishes, and design your custom piece in person.
